Casa Cultura presents a new series of workshops for musicians. Tips and Tricks for Musos will provide musicians with skills and support to develop their careers. These workshops are specifically designed to teach musos simple, inexpensive and accessible techniques that will significantly contribute to their musical endeavours.

Workshops 1&2: Home Recording

These workshops are designed for musicians who want to record themselves at home. Whether you are a singer songwriter, solo instrumentalist, a band and want to to record edit and mix your own music, these tips and tricks will take you through the essential tools and help you understand how to make great sounding demos and home recordings using freeware and open source software, the leanest set of tech and microphones and everyday objects from around the house.

The workshop will take place over two sessions.

The first session (February 17th) will focus on pre-production and recording; understanding the essentials, room conditioning, microphone placement and some smart tricks using everyday home item to make your space sound best. To walk though the process we will record a short song during the workshop using Pro Tools First.

The second session (March 3rd) will be dedicated to post-production and will cover overdubs, editing, mixing and simple mastering. In this workshop, we will work with the track recorded during the first session to go through editing and mixing, filters and plug-ins and simple mastering techniques.

The workshops will be delivered by Daniel Jauregui, tapping into his vast experience as composer, performer, studio engineer, arranger, producer and editor.

Tickets are $25/workshop or $40 for both of them. Tickets at tipsandtricksformusos.floktu.com
